DCR names new board of directors

The Digital Coast Roundtable, the Southern California nonprofit leadership
organization dedicated to emerging technology and new media companies,
announced its new slate of directors Thursday.
Robert J. Dowling, editor-in-chief and publisher of The Hollywood Reporter,
was re-elected chairman. Also elected to their positions were: vp Leonard J.
Washington II, president of Paramount Digital Entertainment; secretary Alan
G. Kirios, president of Alan G. Kirios Law Corp.; and treasurer John Farina,
president and chief operating officer of Vidyah.
"As the technology sector gains more insight into the complexities of the
entertainment business, the combined creative talents of both industries are
certain to bring the consumer a far richer, robust and interactive
experience," Dowling said. "These changes will guarantee opportunity for
many new companies, ideas, products and developers."
Newly elected director Nick DeMartino, senior vp media and technology,
American Film Institute, joins Peter Marx, chief technical officer of
Vivendi Universal Games and Tim Sarnoff, president of Sony Pictures
Imageworks.
Appointed directors also serve on the board. To fill this role, DCR has
named: Seamus Blackley, agent, Creative Artists Agency; William Doeren, vp
Kodak Entertainment Imaging division and general manager of Digital Cinema;
Ken Dozier, executive director of NASA Far West RTTC; Victoria Duff, founder
and CEO, Bold Ventures Group; John Manulis, CEO and producer of VisionBox
Media Group; Rachel McCallister, co-president mPRm Public Relations; Linda
Nicolai, managing partner, Executive Alliance Group; and Luis Ubinas,
director, McKinsey & Company.
DCR is open to executives in the digital media industries. In addition to
its monthly meeting program, DCR supports numerous community and educational
outreach programs through the Digital Coast Foundation.
