The Digital Coast Roundtable has re-elected The Hollywood Reporter editor-in-chief and publisher
Robert J. Dowling as chairman.
Other officials returning to the board of the Southern California nonprofit leadership
organization include mPRm co-president Rachel McCallister as vp and Alan Kirios, partner at Alan G.
Kirios Law Corp., as secretary.
John Farina, president and chief operating officer of Vidyah, was elected treasurer. Other
elected directors include Peter Marx, chief technology officer of VUGames; Tim Sarnoff, president
of Sony Pictures Imageworks; and Leonard Washington, president of Paramount Digital Entertainment.
Dowling said he is a firm believer in DCR's mission of assisting all interested parties in
examining and understanding the intersection of technology and entertainment.
"Technology and entertainment are converging at warp speed, and the Digital Coast Roundtable is
trying to facilitate an easy transition with a spotlight focused on opportunity," he said.
Other directors serving on the board are former DCR chairman Kevin Wall, partner of Shelter
Capital Partners; Bill Doeren, vp and general manager of Kodak Digital Imaging Center; Ken Dozier,
executive director of NASA Far West RTTC; John Manulis, CEO and producer of VisionBox Media Group;
Matthew Miller, principal at CRESA Partners; and Linda Nicolai, managing partner at Executive
Alliance Group.
DCR was established in 1998 to support the growth of emerging technology and new-media companies
in the California region bounded by San Diego and Santa Barbara. It also is involved with community
outreach programs through the Digital Coast Foundation, which hosts the ongoing Arts & Technology
workshop series for the Los Angeles Unified School District's New Media Academies, among other
activities.
