Profile of The Entertainment Technology Center at USC
The Entertainment Technology Center at USC is an organized research unit at the
University of Southern California within the School of Cinema-Television founded in 1993. Our
goal is to understand the impact of new technology on all aspects of the entertainment
industry - technology development and implementation, the creative process, and existing
business models.
Our Sponsors comprise most major studios, including Disney, Lucasfilm, Sony
Pictures Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox, Universal, Viacom/Paramount, and Warner Bros.,
plus leading technology companies and organizations such as Laser Pacific Media Corp.,
Panasonic, SBC/Pacific Bell and TRW.
Our Projects include the Digital Cinema Laboratory in Hollywood, a high quality
testing environment for digital cinema distribution and display.
