On July 18, 2007, DCR Chairman Tim Sarnoff hosted a panel discussion about the virtual worlds that now embrace not only games but socializing, community building, educational purposes, etc. The panel talked about how virtual worlds will deal with the real-life issues, including intellectual property rights and the creative expression of music, film, literary and artistic works, etc.; what the business benefits are of this new exploration and why virtual worlds have become more than hype and offer new business models, strategies and opportunities.

The discussion was moderated by Geoff Keighley, Reporter for Entertainment Weekly. The panel consisted of Torrie Dorrell, Sr. VP of Global Sales and Marketing for Sony Online Entertainment; Douglas Gayeton, Chief Creative Officer of Millions of Us; Peter Marx, Producer/Consultant with MTV Networks; and Sibley Verbeck, CEO of Electric Sheep Company
