Chairman's Roundtable Series Event Speakers - November 15, 2006

Tim Sarnoff is President of Sony Pictures Imageworks, an Academy Award-winning visual effects and computer animation company dedicated to the art of digital production and character creation. Mr. Sarnoff joined Imageworks in 1997, five years after its inception.

As president, Mr. Sarnoff is responsible for the direction and management of the facility, which has been recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with Oscars for its work on "Spider-Man 2" and the CG-animated short film "The ChubbChubbs!," as well as nominations for "Spider-Man," "Hollow Man," "Stuart Little" and "Starship Troopers." Other notable credits for Imageworks include "Bewitched," "The Aviator," "The Polar Express," "Big Fish," "Bad Boys II," "Stuart Little 2," "Cast Away," and "Contact."

Imageworks, which has grown from 600 to nearly 1000 employees over the past year, is currently in production on "Monster House," "Ghost Rider," "Spider-Man 3," "Beowulf," and the first two full-length CG-animated features from Sony Pictures Animation, "Open Season" and "Surf's Up."

Prior to his affiliation with Imageworks, Mr. Sarnoff was Senior Vice President of Warner Digital Studios, which was established as a division of Warner Bros. in 1995. Mr. Sarnoff originally joined Warner Bros. in 1989 to set up Steven Spielberg's animated series "Tiny Toon Adventures." During Mr. Sarnoff's tenure, Warner Bros. Animation grew from four employees to more than 300 employees, became a separate business unit of Warner Bros. and completed numerous animated television series, including "Tasmania," "Batman," "Animaniacs" and "Superman."

Mr. Sarnoff began his career as Program Director for the NBC affiliate KMIR in Palm Springs, and then moved to the NBC network in Los Angeles as a production unit manager. In 1987, he joined Paramount Television as Manager of Production Accounting, and then became Director of Domestic Television Programming.

Mr. Sarnoff is a graduate of Stanford University, where he received his undergraduate degrees in 1981.

Carson Daly - Ten years ago, Carson Daly was an intern at KCMJ-FM in Palm Spring, California. He quickly rose up the ranks of radio and, in the summer of 1996, landed one of the most coveted positions in the business--that of the early evening voice of Los Angeles’ influential and top-rated KROQ-FM. MTV soon recognized his talent and brought him to New York City.

It was at MTV that Daly became the entertainment icon that he is today. His popularity exploded in the era of ‘N Sync, Britney Spears and Eminem. As host and executive producer of MTV’s “Total Request Live” (TRL), he transformed an afternoon music video program into a must-stop on the publicity circuit for musicians, movie stars and entertainers alike.

In January 2002, his loyal fans followed him to NBC and tuned into his late-night television show “Last Call with Carson Daly,” which will soon be celebrating its five-year anniversary as a part of the network’s top-rated, late-night lineup. Since day one, “Last Call” has been the show that gives many of the hottest bands their first break on network television or on U.S. television.

Since leaving TRL, Daly has emerged as a pioneer of the pop culture explosion; his talent and credibility with fans has allowed him to emerge as a major player in the entertainment industry. His career has focused on a multitude of media, including network television, radio, the recording industry and, most recently, the Internet. In September of this year, NBC and Carson Daly created “It’s Your Show”—a rewarding interactive project that encourages viewers to submit their own storytelling videos with the chance to win cash money. Daly is now looking for the next wave of stars and directors from the Internet.

For NBC Daly has also hosted a number of primetime specials, including NBC's 4th of July Spectacular and the Radio Music Awards. In addition to hosting, Daly and NBC Universal Studio have produced NBC's 2004 and 2005 New Year's Eve primetime specials “NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly.” They will also produce the upcoming 2006 New Year’s Eve special in Times Square.

Brian Fitzgerald is co-founder and President of Gorilla Nation Media, LLC, the world's largest online ad rep firm. Mr. Fitzgerald began his career as an intellectual property attorney at MGM Studios, went on to represent some of the entertainment industry's largest independent film distributors, and co-founded Celebrity Blvd. prior to Gorilla Nation.

Shawn Gold is SVP in charge of marketing and content for the social networking Web site, which has over 100 million registered members. MySpace.com focuses on personal expression, human connection and the discovery of popular culture, and has become an internet phenomenon.

Gold joined MySpace.com earlier this year with 14 years of experience in digital marketing and content strategy, including serving as publisher of WeblogsInc, the largest publisher of professional blogs on the Web. He was president and chief strategist of Intermix - bringing the online entertainment network to profitability and making it the most popular on the Web. Additionally, he headed marketing and communications for WHN, an ecommerce company that provided marketing services to the 2002 Olympics, ABC, NBC, Comedy Central, MTV and Fox.

Prior to WHN.com, Shawn served as head of strategic planning at Rare Medium where he created the inaugural interactive communication strategies for P&G, General Foods, Mattel and Nestle. In 1995, Shawn was GM and Founder of Icon New media's Advertising Division, publishing Word.com and Charged.com. There he created the first interstitial ads on the web and an industry-leading advertising system based on time rotation and contextual integration. He started developing interactive content in 1992 as a partner with TouchTunes Interactive, a telecommunications music marketing service in the USA, Japan and New Zealand. He is a founding board member of the Producers Guild of America's New Media Council.

Danny Kastner has built a career by his combining extensive experience and love for music and media with dynamic creative invention. He’s founded and has been the powerhouse behind three successful startups including Music Interactive, Scores International, and POPstick. Now, Danny has taken music and online media to a whole other level with FanRocket™.

A constant innovator in the Internet arena, Danny founded the first music industry portal in 1994 with Music Interactive. At POPstick, he established the first large-scale social marketing initiatives for Microsoft and others across the US. And now with FanRocket™, Danny continues his quest for creative conceptions that solve a real challenge – to build the hottest online TV and entertainment content portals. Portals that integrate FanRocket’s proprietary user-generated content and social-networking technologies with global brands and television networks. FanRocket’s work can most recently be seen on NBC’s online show starring Carson Daly.

Danny’s creative achievements as a musician have been featured in numerous television programs, earning him multiple awards from ASCAP and BMI as well as the John Lennon, Mid-Atlantic, and WRA Song Competitions. Danny may be most recognized as the laid-back guitar playing contestant from NBC’s first season of “The Apprentice” with Donald Trump.

Oliver Luckett is co-founder and senior vice president of network development. It's his job to spread the Revver gospel.

Prior to Revver, Oliver spearheaded the Internet efforts of Norman Lear's "Declare Yourself" non-partisan campaign, achieving more than one million online voter registrations through partnerships with Yahoo!, Google, IAC/InterActiveCorp, and Friendster.

Previously, Oliver was co-founder and chief technology officer of iBlast, vice president of network development at Anschutz Digital Media, chief IP services architect for Qwest Communications, and founder of the media and technology consulting firm, Revilopark.

Oliver holds a bachelor's degree in French literature from Vanderbilt University.

In addition, he is the co-host of the TV Guide Channel weekly series Square Off and TV critic for the National Public Radio program Day to Day. He has served as commentator on television-related matters on CNN, CNBC, ESPN, E! and MTV and has a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University.
