On December 1, 2007, Sony Pictures Imageworks provided dedicated educators a rare opportunity to interact with professionals at Imageworks and in the industry while they enjoyed delicious catered refreshments and screened amazing imagery. Everyone learned and left full of valuable knowledge and inspiration to take back to the classroom. Author and physics teacher Adam Weiner provided a keynote talk about using movies in the classroom. Adam is the author of Don’t Try This At Home! The Physics of Hollywood Movies. The keynote was followed by a panel discussion about the realities of working in the industry, the skills needed, the demo reel, the job market, levels of employment, and the day-to-day life of the animator and technical director.
